Welcome to fall! In order to get ready for the colder months, I spent all last week putting up my summer whites — shoes, handbags, linen, and even my beloved white jeans. Though I was sad to see these go to the back of my closet, I immediately started to get excited for the season the very moment I came across my favorite chunky cable-knit cardigan. And the boots! Hello, black suede over the knee boots! Oh, how I’ve missed you my dear, leather riding boots. While most of my friends call me old-fashioned for allowing the seasons to dictate my wardrobe, there is something about this tradition I find personally satisfying. It also got me thinking about today’s woman — is it really an anything-goes kind of world, or still should there be some sort of rule set that governs our shopping habits throughout the year?
