I rarely find a brand that I can see myself wearing head to toe – Jenni Kayne, however, is one of those brands, my perfect sartorial match. Which is why I audibly shrieked – much to the bewilderment of the sales associates – when I realized I was standing inside the new-ish (it’s been there since April) Jenni Kayne shop at the Brentwood Country Mart. Between the cases of Tom Binns jewelry (drool) and an entire shelf of Proenza Schouler bags (double drool) I didn’t really know where to start. And that’s before I even made my way to the racks of tailored separates, buttery leathers and silk frocks – stuff that will easily take one from the office to an evening out with a mere shoe change (yes, there’s plenty of those here too). Jenni herself is something of a fashion prodigy landing her first buying gig at the tender age of 18, launching her line at 19 and showing at N.Y. Fashion Week at 21. Pretty impressive. And as evidenced by her adorable blog, she’s just an overall cool chick. Jenna Lyons – watch out, I think I have a new girl crush.
