I know it’s PC to steer our children down a gender-neutral path these days but when you have a boy (and he’s ALL boy) there are certain things that will never fly. Like a beautiful handmade rag doll from Jess Brown. Now that the Petaluma-based designer is doing a women’s and home line called Pieces, I’m psyched to finally be able to get in on the action. The small clothing collection consists of basic cotton tops and slips in shades of grey and natural linen. I’m drawn to the cut of the back button shift top. It reminds me of something one might wear in Martha’s Vineyard with a pair of really worn-in jean shorts. But, I’m most smitten with the one-of-a-kind quilts. It looks like each one is made to order and take 4-6 weeks for delivery, which means summer will be peaking once it arrives.
