I have a pretty significant soft spot for old-world general stores (and possibles shops), so it’s not that surprising that I fell hard for Peg & Awl, a Philadelphia-based enterprise from husband and wife team Margaux and Walter Kent. Everything they make (by hand) has a wonderfully rough-hewn, imperfect vibe that somehow makes it all seem even more precious. I’m smitten with their eensy book necklaces (you can see one of the book necklace work stations they built for the gift show below) and their unisex waxed canvas totes are just sort of beyond. Meanwhile, Jen Smith was the first one to tip me off to their lace rings.
