A year or so ago, Jill Demling (the entertainment editor at Vogue, which means she books the celebrity covers), and her friend Karen Mulligan (the studio manager for Annie Leibovtiz) decided to launch a girl’s surf line, after shopping for a trip to a surf camp and finding nothing they wanted to actually wear. (I’m guessing this is before Cynthia Rowley and Tory Burch got in on that action.) The result: Pret a Surf, which launched as a very small capsule collection of terry shorts and bathing suits. It’s getting bigger and bigger now, and I have to say that I kind of a want a lot of it. I don’t even wear shorts, either, but there’s something about those sweet little stripes that just seems so right. And I’m pretty obsessed with high-waisted bikinis. Definitely pricey, but pretty cute, right?
