Put DOWN the tweezers (again)! Bold brows are having quite the moment on the Spring 2013 runways this New York Fashion Week–brows are either in or they are out. They seem to be in as of lately–au natural style. Meaning: messy and full! Jason Wu, Marc Jacobs, Ruffian–and the list doesn’t stop there. I’ve personally been ‘growing’ my brows out for the past 6 months. I still have some spotty patches from years of waxing and threading. I pine for my brows of my youth—black, full and bushy—and once I got my driver’s license, rip! And just like that, they were gone…
Spotted at New York Fashion Week: Bold Brows
Thankfully, you don’t need to genetically have great brows to have the look of bold brows. Pencils and powders do the trick beautifully. I prefer a pencil—easier to apply for us non-makeup artist types.
It is best if you go two shades lighter than your brows and choose a pencil with a taupe hue (looks more natural). Right now I love NARS Ipanema eyebrow pencil, and Dior Brow Styler works great on everyone!
Below are the two pencils–and remember, the bigger the better. For a pretty, natural look add some apricot blush (Gilda by NARS is pretty great) and a clean, pretty lip (touch of Aquaphor and you are good to go!) to let them brows have their moment.
