Having lived in Los Angeles for four years, I’ve rarely needed an umbrella.  The first year I lived here, it rained approximately twice.  However, I’m planning on doing some travelling soon, and in an effort to “always be prepared,” I’ve started to scout for an attractive and stylish umbrella so I don’t get stuck purchasing some random one that I hate at the last minute.  While a few of these are out of my price range right now, they’re still pretty to look at – and I’m a big believer in knowing what’s out there in order to make an informed decision.  After all, if I save by buying an Old Navy trench I can certainly splurge on a Burberry umbrella, right?
