Celebrities in Denim: Lindsay Lohan April 4th, 2010 By

The girl might catch some flack from her personal life, but you’ve got to give credit where it’s due: she has a great denim wardrobe.

I’ve picked my two favorite shots of Lindsay in jeans, and two pairs of jeans you can get right here at beso that recreate the look.

1. Lindsay in Balmain:

Lindsay Lohan in the oh-so popular ripped denim from Balmain

I love the look of these jeans, especially because of the ripped and bleached denim trend. It’s fun, it’s fresh and it’s sticking around throughout this spring/summer season. What I don’t like? The two thousand dollar price tag.  Here’s a great option instead:

Genetic Denim 'The Davis Ripped Slouchy' in White

These jeans are not only less expensive, they’re also on sale! Check them out for only $125.

2. Lindsay in Jet by John Eshaya Shorts:

Lindsay Lohan in Jet by John Eshaya Denim Cut-Off Shorts

Are you ready for summer? I have a couple of cut-off denim shorts, and these Jet by John Eshaya shorts are definitely on-trend! Want to try it for yourself, without the premium denim price tag? Here’s my recommendation:

7 For All Mankind "Flynt" Cut-Off in Tahiti

Okay, so they’re still premium denim, but… they’re on sale! Get these 7 For All Mankind babies at 6pm.com at 47% off – now marked down to $67.85.

I don’t know about you, but I’m ready for summer already! Make sure your wardrobe is too, and keep up with the latest trends (without paying the ridiculous prices). For more denim reviews and details, head over to DenimDebutante.com and stay tuned to the beso blog!

Denim Brand Review: 7 For All Mankind March 21st, 2010 By

I’ve written about 7 For All Mankind on DenimDebutante.com a couple of times, but since some time has passed, I wanted to share my latest experiences exclusively with the beso blog readers!

To start with a little brand background, 7 For All Mankindwas started by denim powerhouse Jerome Dahan (the same designer of Citizens of Humanity denim line) in 2000. Dahan and his partner left the company in 2004 (if my memory and Google research serves me right), and the brand was bought out by Vanity Fair in 2007. Around the time when Dahan left, the brand started to slip. Quality, cut and fit seemed to fall to the wayside in favor of loud designs, crystals and other forms of flash.

I wasn’t 100% sure that I would ever buy another pair of 7 For All Mankind jeans, but I gave the line one more chance and I’m so happy to say that they have totally turned the fit and design around. The brand has made a complete 180 and has come back to wear they started – traditional styles, perfect fits and innovative washes.

Here are my top 3 favorite styles from the brand:

7 For All Mankind Gummy Gwenevere in Indigo

#3 The DojoThe Dojo is the traditional flare that really made the line famous, and it’s pretty obvious how that happened. The fitted thigh, flared leg and perfectly sized back pockets made this great. Plus, for those of us who are shorter, the Petite Dojo is about a 30″ inseam, has a slightly higher knee break to elongate your legs and make you look taller.

#2 The Skinny: Clean, gorgeous and easy to wear, 7 For All Mankind’s newest skinny cut is awesome! This pair is perfect to wear with boots and a tunic… soft and simple. A definite winner.

#1 The Gwenevere: My all-time favorite pair from 7 For All Mankind is the Gummy Gwenevere Denim Legging in Indigo. They’re soft, a great length and a snug fit. The Gummy style does run a little bit small (about a half size, so if you’re in between sizes like me, go with your larger size), but it’s a pair you’ll keep going to again and again.

Curious about all the pairs that 7 For All Mankind has to offer? Don’t be! beso has all of them all in one place – everything from brand new to sale pairs – just go to their 7 For All Mankind Section and search through the different pairs to find what’s right for you!

Pop Quiz: Who was the original fit model for 7 For All Mankind? (Hint: She now has her own very popular denim line!)

Shoe Cravings: Peep Toe Booties February 24th, 2010 By

When the seasons are at that changing point, it’s hard to figure out what to put on your feet. It might be too warm for boots, yet still too cold for sandals. So the peep-toe is the meet-in-the-middle option. Peep-toe pumps are fine for workdays and weddings, but what about everyday options? That’s where the peep-toe bootie comes in.  It works with flirty dresses, slim skirts, as well as pencil pants and even shorts if you dare! Here are five crave-worthy peep-toe booties to help you transition your toes from one season to the next!

How to Wear: Wide Leg Denim February 11th, 2010 By

- Jaime at Denim Debutante

7 For All Mankind Ginger Jean, $79

I know that a lot of you are hesitant to try wide leg denim, and I understand why;  It can be quite daunting if you don’t know how to style them.  Here are a three tips that will help you out without stressing you out!

1. Find a flattering cut for you. My personal favorite wide leg style is the 7 For All Mankind Ginger Jean because it’s a great mix between fitted and wide leg without being a bell bottom or flare.

Milly Cynthia Begonia-Print Blouse, $108

2. Pair with a feminine blouse. I love wearing tees and boyfriend jeans as much as you do, but the wide leg is more of a polished look… and you can pull it off.  I love wearing silk with my jeans because of the  contrast between the ultimate working man’s fabric and something inherently feminine.  Try something like the Milly Cynthia Begonia-Print Blouse for a look that is work-friendly and fashion-forward.

3. Grab your heels! When I’m afraid that my clothing is overpowering me (which, by the way, it should neverdo), I make sure to throw on a pair of heels.  Sound contradictory?  Not really.  A good pair of heels like these Stuart Weitzman Frontpage Purple Suede Pumps will put a little extra pep in your step.

With all of these additions (as well as a kickass handbag), you’re ready to go!  Just remember: you wear the look, not the other way around!

Has Denim Gone Too Far? September 1st, 2009 By

7 for All Mankind's Roxanne skinny jeans, $198.

7 for All Mankind's Roxanne skinny jeans, $198.

The Cut just posted an interesting story called “Jeggings and Other Scary Denim Garments to Proliferate for Fall.“  The story muses that skin tight denim has slipped in as the next trend.  What it doesn’t concede is that the look is actually pretty cute.

Already, top brands are producing stretch skinny jeans, and the newest ones are ripped and even acid-washed.  Think skinny jeans to the extreme.  The reviews seem mixed so far, but one thing is clear: fashion is demanding that the trend move forward.

I’m not sure I will ever let mine get as tight as Whitney Port’s, but I did just snap up a great-fitting pair of Roxanne skinny jeans from 7 for All Mankind.  They have just the right amount of stretch with a few rips, which I think are very rock ‘n roll.

Twenty Percent Off (Exp 9/17) LOFT, 7 for all Mankind, Maxstudio.com August 28th, 2009 By

Did anyone catch the coupon codes that were located on the bottom of pages 79-84 in the latest People’s Style Watch Magazine?  If you said no, that’s probably because they were written in size 2 font.  I’m not sure why these gems were hidden, but I’m here to shout them out to the masses.  Ok, maybe not shout, but you get my drift.

LOFT - Ruffle Trim Cardigan

LOFT - Pleated Neck Dress

LOFT - Pleated Neck Dress

The LOFT (loftonline.com) has a ton of fresh looks for the fall season.  Some of my favorites include their Pleated Neck Dress for $59.50 and the Ruffle Trim Cardi (in gray of course) for $69.50. The best part of all, you can bank it at 20% off with promo code PSW20 at checkout.

If hip work casual clothing is not your cup of tea, I know 7 for all Mankind jeans are a no-brainer.  Practically a staple in most women’s wardrobe, these booty hugging in all the right places jeans are now yours for 20% off with coupon code STYLEWATCH.  But why stop at jeans when you can buy an entire outfit? I’m really into this Translucent Lace Tiered Cami – its part sex on a string and fem-sophisticate.

Has anyone checked out Maxstudio.com lately?  I’d say their fall collection teeters on black being the IT color and loose fitting romantic pieces.  Having gone thru their thankfully large fashion images online, my clutch wallet will open up to the black Crinkled Silk Pleated Top.  I can imagine myself pairing this blousy textural trend with jeans, leggings, or a mini.  Either way, I can’t lose with a 20% mark-down when I enter MAX917 during my checkout process.

One small kicker, these codes only work for full-price merchandise!
