I think I may have mentioned this before, but I pretty much wear all my dresses year round thanks to tights. They’re the duct tape to most of my outfits, right after sensible underwear. And yeah, tights aren’t the most fun to shop for. They’re one of those things that you tend to buy last minute, like toilet paper. I always buy TP last minute and yes this says a lot about my life. It also occurs to me that thus far I have described tights as both toilet paper and duct tape. What I guess I’m trying to get at is that they are essential. A pair of really good tights, like tried and true ones from Wolford (they’re the best), will last you a long time. Sort of like buying toilet paper at Costco, if you will. (See? We’ve come full circle.) Most of my tights come in pretty basic colors. Nothing too crazy: I am, after all, of average height and you can’t slap a bright pattern on a pair of legs unless they’re extra long. But if you are blessed with long legs, A. Try the bolder hues and B. I resent you a great deal.
