I’ve been in a frenzy ever since I returned from San Francisco trying to get my closet cleaned up and cleaned out. I do this pretty much every year as sort of a pre-spring cleaning, but with clothes. I’m pretty good about donating the gently worn items, but my girlfriends and I always give each other first dibs.
One thing I noticed is that none of my sportswear seems suitable for either donation or my friends (who are way less picky, by the way). In fact, it doesn’t even seem suitable to wear at all anymore. I don’t know how this happened, but suddenly my vintage athletic t-shirts and old college jerseys just seem totally gross. My friend suggested that it’s time to get some “grownup” workout clothes, seeing that I’m well-past college age and old frat shirts just won’t do anymore, I suppose. I’m looking for some cute boot cut yoga pants, a few racerback tops, and pretty much all women’s activewear in general.
What is some of your favorite workout gear? I’ve heard that Lululemon Athletica is a good one, any others?

Can you believe it? Not only is it the start of a new year, but also the start of a new decade. Now, I’ve never been one to reminisce or make resolutions every January 1. In fact, I’ve often been known to quote my grandmother, a well-known social columnist in the 1960s, saying that “New Year’s is for amateurs.” I’ve never needed a reason to pamper myself or start working out or try something new. However, I’m feeling a little sentimental this year for some reason, and the idea of setting a few resolutions seems quite appealing.
