I’m working from home on a video project today, with the ever-trusty Diana Ryu, and so my friend (and former Lucky colleague) Robin decided to join in the fun and stop by. She’s carrying a rad, neon yellow satchel, which naturally means, that Diana and I both want a rad, neon yellow satchel, too. She got the tip-off from Le Catch, the blog of Marlien Rentmeester (Lucky’s west coast editor, who arguably has the best style out there on both coasts). So guys, keep spreading the word! (Also, Robin got her initials embossed on the front: SO GOOD.)

Bag It: Treesje April 1st, 2010 By

I discovered Treesje while shopping for a new handbag a while back, and since then I have been debating which one to treat myself to.  Treesje is a California-based company that was launched in 2005 by designers Laura Darrah and Sheila Nazarian. Their inspiration was to capture femininity and originality in every piece created.

What I love most about Treesje bags are the rich colors and texture. The use of luxurious leathers and hardware make these accessories a must-have. Both designers combine their influences to design, sophisticated yet functional handbags with incredible detail in every collection.  It’s obvious why there is a growing list of celebrity customers including Drew Barrymore, Katherine Heigl, and Katie Holmes.

I snagged the Olivia Harris Spider Lambskin Satchel several months ago and it has become one of my staple bags ever since. I carry it virtually everywhere – from work to play. It makes a great bag for girls on-the-go because it is just the right size inside and out.

Made of a soft, yet durable lambskin leather, the bag features pintucks at the bottom and a ‘spider’ strap design along the front, with an exterior magnetic pocket concealed within the design. Buckled straps detail each side and a hanging fringe logo tag on the handle lends a nice touch. The double rolled handles also have buckled straps, and the 7″ length is just long enough for the bag to fit comfortably on your shoulder. The handles and body of the bag are made of the same sturdy weathered leather which breaks-in very nicely over time.  It is lined in gray fabric with an internal zip pocket plus two cell phone pockets.

I’ve carried it in the fall and winter (read: rain and snow) and the leather still looks like new. This spring and summer will be no different with this year-round bag.  Inside the bag there is a ton of space and the bag is lightweight so you can pack it full and easily sling it over your shoulder.  And in the cerise shade, the Olivia Harris Spider Lambskin Satchel is the perfect complement to your spring wardrobe!
