I have a way of skirting the things on my to-buy list which might actually make my life better. I really don’t know what it’s all about, but Hunter Wellies? Yeah, I’ve been meaning to buy a pair for a decade. I think about it every month (and definitely every time it rains), and still, have yet to pull the trigger. I’m really not sure what that’s about. The same thing happens every time I visit a shoe department. Neon yellow? Check. Magenta? Totally. Black? Not so much. In fact, sick true story, but I used all my flats and heels to make a wall of shoes in our apartment back east and pretty much managed to hit every note in a Crayola 64-pack.

All this resistance and yet, like any normal person, I wear out my black flats at an alarming rate. (My patent yellow “banana” flats, as Rob lovingly calls them? They barely leave their shoe box.) The happy medium I’ve found is nude. Somehow they feel a bit more fun than practical brown or black, but they go with everything, and have an uncanny ability to make your legs look longer. Who doesn’t love mega-high heels? They may not be as comfortable or easy to walk in (and most of us aren’t as graceful as Heidi Klum), but you’ll definitely look and feel sexy in these seriously hot shoes.

All over the runways, mega-high heels are stealing the show. We’re seeing metallics, snakeskin, neutrals, see-through, animal prints and feather-trimmed. 7 For All Mankind Ginger Jean, $79

I know that a lot of you are hesitant to try wide leg denim, and I understand why;  It can be quite daunting if you don’t know how to style them.  Here are a three tips that will help you out without stressing you out!

1. Find a flattering cut for you. My personal favorite wide leg style is the 7 For All Mankind Ginger Jean because it’s a great mix between fitted and wide leg without being a bell bottom or flare.

When I first caught wind that over the knee boots were going to make a big statement this season, my first though was, “Uh-oh.”  The last thing I wanted to see was a bunch of nice young ladies strutting around like Julia Roberts in Pretty Woman.  But after surveying the amazing range of styles, I found myself lusting after more than a few pairs that are surprisingly demure, yet equally on point.

My favorite pair this season are Stuart Weitzman’s OTK wedge boots.  They have a fabulous enamel buckle and the top, and just the smallest bit of patent leather piping around the heel.  The look is urban, but polished.  Plus, this is a style that I would wear during the daytime.  At $598, they’ll set you back a bit, but I believe their versatility makes up for the price.

On a budget?  Then definitely check out Rampage’s Kamron OTK boots.  They’re only $80, but they certainly don’t look it!  In rich black suede, they can be worn tall or cuffed.

Tip: Wear your OTK boots with opaque tights for a more chic, less street, look.  If you must go sheer, save if for a night on the town when you really want to stand out and look sexy!
