Wise people say that we all ultimately become our parents. Can’t say I disagree, particularly as I watch my style collide with an aesthetic my mom was into way before I thought it was cool. She might not own any Gregory Parkinson, but I’m pretty convinced she would love it—since I know she has pieces in her closet that look like they could have stepped right out of his line. As for me, his cuts can look intimidatingly frumpy on the hanger, but they’re so good on (I promise). I bought one of his tops at Heist in Venice when I first moved to LA, and it’s quickly become one of my favorite pieces. It’s price-y though, which is why I’m thrilled about his collaboration with Anthropologie, that’s a wee bit easier on the wallet. I want it ALL. Maybe I can convince my mom to go halfsies with me so we can share down the road.
