MY FIVE FAVORITE OUTFITS,
ANDREA LINETT
My Five Favorite Outfits is sort of a misnomer, because in ANDREA LINETT's new book, I Want To Be Her (based on her popular, illustrated-outfit blog of the same name), she explains that her style was shaped because she kind of wants to be everyone. Or, almost. With more than 20 years of fashion experience (she was the founding Creative Director of Lucky Magazine, and before that, worked in the fashion department of almost every notable mag around) Linett shares the people whose sartorial choices inspired her along the way. And it's all illustrated by ANNE JOHNSTON ALBERT, her best friend and the designer behind cult-label Martin). So in celebration of the book's arrival on shelves, we picked five girls that we want to be like, and made them shoppable below.
BROOKE SHIELDS
Years later, few thing look as effortlessly glamorous as a great-fitting pair of jeans and a silk blouse. With high heeled boots, this is still my go-to sort-of dressy look.
SIAN
Mixing looks is key. Preppy boys' pieces like Oxford shirts calm down funkier ones like Hawaiian print skirts and metallic shoes.
CHRISTINE
When you have a closet full of classics, you can wear them forever. Like a great pair of skinny flat-front trousers and fitted
button-downs.
