Barely There Makeup
New Year, New You, right? But in all seriousness, we're big fans of reassessing our makeup routines in January—of tossing out those old tubes of orange lipstick we never use, and ramping up our arsenals of new tricks. In the interest of decluttering even our faces, we asked celebrity makeup artist GIANPAOLO CECILIATO—who works with barely-there makeup masters Molly Sims and Scarlett Johansson—to teach us how to look like we just got out of the shower… and didn't so much as curl an eyelash. (All to glamorous effect, of course.)

1complexion
On clean skin, apply tinted moisturizer. "Massage this into your skin like it's a varnish," Gianpaolo explains. (In our humble opinion, fingertips do this best.)

4cheek
"Gently dab and then massage cream blush onto the fullest part of the cheek," Gianpaolo says.

Bonus Tip!

It's common sense, but it's worth re-stating: Per Gianpaolo,to truly glow, lead a healthy and happy lifestyle! Drink your water and get your beauty sleep, and you'll have less work to do in the AM!

2brow
"The brows define a period in time," he says. And brows today are natural and modern. "Lightly fill in where there are holes and make them even."

3lash
First, curl them. Then, apply a coat of mascara. "It's important to keep each lash separated," Gianpaolo explains. After allowing them to fully dry (he recommends 3-4 minutes, but not much more, or they'll be too hard), apply a second coat.

5lip
In a pinch you can use the NARS duo on your lips, too. Otherwise, Gianpaolo recommends Chanel Perle for the right hint of pretty pale pink: "Lips should be approachable—not to mention kissable!"
