Music Festival Special

Our 5 Favorite Outfits From SXSW

Austin is known for its eclectic music scene, all centered around 6th street: The city's annual South by Southwest Festival combines film, music, arts-based conferences, and is also where many get their first big break. We sent resident street style photog Anne Ziegler to snap the best looks from the creative-set.

This entire outfit looks like it was sourced from a well-kept vintage store (Texas is known to have the best thrifting around): It's proof positive that a more conservative approach can work for a music fest.

This look may be casual, but we appreciate that she went the extra mile to cuff her shirt sleeves and jean hems so that they're semi-altered for a spot-on fit. Plus, her leather sneaks are undeniably just good.

A navy blazer takes this low-key look straight into preppy territory. The boots are great for walking in muck or dust storms (plus when you're on your feet all day, it's nice to have some support).

The army parka is a staple that you can wear everywhere, from SXSW to a first afternoon coffee date. And while combat boots seem tough, they live on through the seasons, which means they can revive your favorite summer dress or schlep you through the snow in winter.

Watercolor prints may seem like maximalist territory, but they're more artsy than bold. Add a jean jacket and they get some tomboy appeal, too.
