Recent Los Angeles transplant ROBIN EDLOW spends an inordinate amount of time on the road, shuttling between LA, NYC, and beyond. It makes sense, since she's the VP of marketing for the hotel review site Oyster.com, which prides itself on sending its own writers and photographers to document what that fancy room you're booking online really looks like. In keeping with the compulsively documented, no-regrets policy of the site, Robin is just as particular about the gadgets she buys, which all serve to make her chaotic life just a bit more streamlined.

Roku
I seriously can't live without this. I've had it for two months and
I've now watched the entire series of Mad Men and Breaking Bad, and use it to catch up on Parenthood and Parks and Recreation every week. Also, the box is tiny and totally sleek, which is a
really nice surprise. - 2
Conair Ceramic Ionic Brush Dryer
I saw a woman using this in the locker room at the gym and I was blown away—not only did her hair look amazing, but she was on
her phone while she was doing her hair. This is the one-handed, all-in-one, godsend for girls with frizz. It flattens out my curls,
is incredibly portable and it's WAY cheaper than my flat iron. - 3
Harman Kardon Soundsticks
I've had these speakers for about four years now, and I still think that they look and sound just as great. They look amazing on my Lucite console, and add an extra element of design to my apartment. Win win!

P-Touch Label Maker PT-1090BK
My parents had a p-touch in the house when I was growing up
and I would make labels for everything—including our piano keys (not cool). It's dangerous that I now have my own. This new "stylish" version is amazing because you can even add in designs. I label everything—bins in my closet, files for work, even wires so I know which piece of tech they belong to. - 5
Dyson Air Multiplier
I read the reviews of this fan and they weren't overwhelmingly positive. In fact, most people dislike it. As mentioned, I live in a very, very small apartment (I call it "Tiny House") without air conditioning and this fan works perfectly in this space. It doesn't blow you over with its output, but it works for my small bedroom, and it is incredibly cool to look at. Really, HOW does it work?

Vintage-inspired Light Bulbs
The right lighting is BEYOND key in my teensy apartment and backyard. I do have energy efficient bulbs in the mainoverhead lights, but all of my lamps and hanging pendants (most of them without shades) have edison bulbs. The sweet yellow light that
they give off changes the entire vibe of my house. Whats more, these jumbo string lights make magic happen in the backyard. - 7
Sonos
My boyfriend just moved into a new house and got sonos wired through each room and the front and back yards—it's my dream come true. It syncs not only to his iTunes playlist, but you can
make playlists on Spotify and any other web-based music app
and blast them around. - 8
Waring Pro Blender
This blender is the classic of classics. It's retro, but works like magic and comes in super pretty colors. It only has two settings, which I appreciate—who needs all of those bells and whistles—
just hi and low. Not to sound totally insane, but my berry
smoothies look pretty gorgeous against the retro green shade. - 9
Scanner Pro App
This is the most expensive app I've purchased to date ($6.99), but at this point I don't think I could live without it. I work remotely so I'm able to scan things for Oyster HQ in New York, and scan photos to send to my family. The quality is so hi-res it looks like I actually used a real-life scanner!

Temple Touch Thermometer
This might sound crazy, but I get sick a lot—quick 24-hour bugs, that run with a fever. I found out about these super fast and accurate thermometers from my sister who has two small, impatient kids, so this is her savior: You simply push power, touch it to your temple, and voila! your temp is read. Genius!
